College Entrance Exams

ACT

The ACT is a comprehensive test that shows college preparedness. This test covers English, math, reading, science, and writing. The maximum score (not including the writing section) is a 36. The ACT is administered 7 times throughout the year: February, April, June, July, September, October, and December.

SAT

The SAT is a comprehensive test that shows college preparedness but is different than the ACT. The SAT tests math and evidence-based reading and writing. East coast and west coast colleges and universities typically look at SAT scores to determine whether a student is accepted to their school.
